First thank you so much for this blog, your podcast, and your huge library of articles. I have always (since childhood, truly) loved rehabbing neglected outdoor areas and growing things, but now as an elder millennial (as they say) I’ve at last caught the true gardening “bug” and have become a true obsessive. I love listening to your podcast especially and find it to be a wonderful resource and also a soothing balm amidst a barrage of otherwise distressing news.

I loved this conversation with Ken Druse especially as my own garden is dominated by shade. I bought and have nearly finished the book–I’m very excited to plant some lungwort this fall!

I wanted to write with an observation and a hopeful request. Much of Ken’s writing, and, I think, of the conversation between you and your guests, is focused on gardening in the eastern US–or at least on areas where water is more plentiful than where I live in Colorado. (Of course this makes sense given where you’re based.)

But my own attempts at gardening have to be mindful not only of light but also of water, or lack thereof. Our primary source of irrigation is the Colorado River, which is dwindling, and the ecologically-minded gardener has to spend her water budget extremely frugally.

I wonder if you might consider hosting a guest or two from out this way sometime–I’d really love to hear the resulting conversation! (I will say I loved the conversation with Theresa Crimmins!)

Again, I’m so appreciative of your work here and am truly in awe of you and your guests’ expertise.
