This year in the coastal NW it was a wet winter. Subsequently, this spring I was delighted by the profuse flowering of a delicate yellow violet in patches of moss on rocks and in my garden. Here lots of beautiful things grow up through moss: ferns, native tiarellas and heucheras, small yellow monkey flowers and much more. Thank you Uli and Margaret for expanding our horizons about moss. Now I’m off to look for Trilliums.

I did not know the Trillium genus was SO diverse!
