We humans have the migration of “exotics” down pat. A fairly recent process experiencing a great acceleration with the “discovery of the Americas” when “New World” plants became “exotic” in Europe, Then the great arrival of purpose collected plants from Asia beginning in earnest in the 19th century and continuing to the present and its explosion of “invasives.” In all the cycles of climate change plants have been on the move – though with movement limited to how far a seed might go by air or foot – wind, bird, squirrel…

A great reminder of the very serious work being done at Mt. Cuba Center and the deep thinking behind that work, and the practical application of that work.
