Here in NW Illinois, several crabapple trees in my yard are showing signs of stress this year. One is nearly leafless. I optimistically hope that they can survive until spring. I wonder sometimes if interacting less is best. I try to observe more and do less. This topic and conversation will be more frequent in the years to come. I highly recommend Zoe Schlanger’s book “The Light Eaters” for an interesting theory on plant life.

Attending to the usual task. And listening… and how we do have to keep learning. And how this program is so important as a part of our on-going education. An example, his practice for planting plants from pots!

And it does seem I may have hope for a Poliothrysis sinensis planted here my garden was still in 5a. We shall see.

I know I have to make the Cornell Botanic Garden a stop on my next trip to see family in Toronto – just about at the mid-way point.
