Slugs won’t crawl across them later in the season and eat holes in the hosta leaves.

It seems ergonomic. I dig dandelions from my front yard in spring. Then in fall I did sedge and crabgrass. It’s a never ending task. But my weeder helps me get the roots. So it really works. But to hear of the corn gluten. I guess I wasted mucho bucks buying it. Oh, well.

My nightmare was a hardy hibiscus which was so Japanese Beetle eaten that the flowers seemed supported barely by stems and the leaves were creepy and very lacy. I started spraying Sevin, but read about it. Oy, vey!

Thanks for your great advice! I will try to get crabgrass out of the front lawn and the garden. And I have to weed jewel weed and the Clear weed you introduced me to. Yikes. I should give up my job, if I could afford it, just to work the land and get a better natural balance.
