We plan to replace it as soon as the weather cools this fall. Since we are in our 70’s, I would really like to replace it with a larger red oak tree, but Doug has discouraged us from that. We shall see. I love our oak trees and it was so paiinful to lose one of the big ones.

I have hesitated to plant any for this reason.

My friend just built a home on 10 acres and was wondering what trees to plant.
I am definitely going to share this story with her!
