I may not have thinned soon enough. I do seem to need plants to get established before tugging them out. I will be on it this summer though. I will think about their modesty too and provide little hills when the roots are showing. Perhaps read about trace minerals too.

I think here in the cool PNW, sowing after their ‘breeding’, i.e., egg laying season is a strategy… sowing after June. But, also I’ll be trying the 1.5 foot netting ‘fence’ earlier, this spring, because the flies apparently don’t fly higher than that. Anyone have any experience with these, or any other tactic ? Thx :)
