Hi, Alice. I have seen the recommendation to gather the worms and kill them in plastic bags placed in the sun, and I have seen the recommendation to solarize incoming materials like compost by heating it to 105 degrees or higher for 3 days or longer with solarization before using, and this advice from a University of Vermont Extension webpage try to solarize a bed to eradicate the worms. Just to be clear: this will kill any plants in the area, too, and if you already have the worms they do spread fast so it may niot be in just one bed. The last story I did on the jumping worms, which I have been writing about since 2013.

Would this timing and approach also work for mitigation/eradication of snake worms?

I have had success with covering rocks with cardboard boxes. Thanks!
