I used to let them grow and buy more to fill in spots and experiment with new plants, now I prune and have better plants and bushes. It took me a long while to dig out and discard plants that I no longer like or do not match my changing aesthetic.
It is calming to refer to changes as the result of an audit rather than plant “killer.” Thanks for the new vocabulary.
In addition, pictures are important to help one realize that an area is bare for a while or becomes shaded six weeks later,

After visiting a lovely, local garden, I started to reimagine areas in my own yard…mostly, by removing (even more) pachysandra, which will better highlighting established trees/bushes, and replacing with plants found in adjacent areas in order to make the front gardens more cohesive. Larger projects will take a joint audit with the hubby.

I have made a list of big picture chores.
