(“BED” also seems apropos as so often we create or think in terms of garden “beds”. Ha-Ha!) This approach involves purposeful decisions in our choices of what to include and what to exclude from areas in question. “Bio” (for biodiversity) applies to any/all species of native flora and fauna that should be part of an optimally functioning ecosystem in the very specific area where I or you live. “Native” doesn’t truly apply in general terms to large areas like zip codes, counties, states, or regions. Those designations can be helpful as “broad filters”. However, when introducing plants (for enhancement), our efforts are most effective if we choose species specifically “native” to the same growing conditions (soil, moisture, and micro/macro-climates) as are found in our property. Non-natives also can promote biodiversity if they provide needed resources and are not invasive. Research is important, and interesting! Let it lead your “BED” efforts.

I like to call it a “salad mix.”

I am thinking ‘luxuriant’, like those tropical forests we love to travel to (and that we call paradise)!
