Last year I planted 3 Shasta daisies & this year I am going to add more for the first layer because they did so well. And intersperse with catmint- there is so much variety in catmint. That will leave a ground cover like thyme for in-between the stones. I tried thyme on the side & in-between the stones of the path like you see in magazines & the weeds won. So now I am going for more shrub-like plants like shasta daisies & sedum on the path edges, and try thyme just between the stones.
