The results were very good, all the figs survived and had a great season. The conclusion was climate change is making winters milder and more tender plants can handle it.
We live in 6b zone in southeast CT . Should I risk leaving my figs outdoors for the winter ?

Hi, Phil. I have never done it. My friend Lee Reich is expert in all things fig and I see this article on his blog re: his rooting method. Maybe ask him directly in comments there?

It’s just great to hear all the fig tree stories. I live in northern Utah—short growing season. My Chicago fig is a champ. Comes back each year after total die back. But, rarely do the many figs get to full maturity. I will get a few if I cover the tree to protect it from the early frosts in September and October. Very frustrating. Does anyone know how to propagate cuttings so I can pot them and take them in for the winter?
Thanks.
