Just a few weeks ago, on a hill I hike regularly, I noticed that a large stand of beech had curling, dying leaves. I was puzzling over the cause when this episode popped up. It was so very sad to see the dying trees — we have so many beech here in New Hampshire — and sad to now know there’s no help for them.
